Why does my pan slide on induction?
The smooth glass surface offers little grip, and the magnetic field of induction causes the pan to vibrate slightly. Together, this causes the pan to slowly slide away, especially when stirring vigorously or cooking on high heat. The lighter the pan, the faster it moves.
What is an induction mat and does it help?
An induction mat is a thin silicone mat placed between the pan and the hob. It has an anti-slip effect, so your pan stays put while stirring, and it catches splatters that would otherwise burn onto the surface. Be sure to check the heat resistance of the mat and make sure the pan base is clean and dry before use.

The simplest solution is a heavier pan with a flat, full stainless steel base: it makes more contact and stays in place better due to its weight.
